The "tec-tec" (Saxicola tectes), a little thin-legged passerine bird, native to the Reunion Island. Very curious, it becomes less and less frightened by human beings as one hikes higher in altitude. It is still unclear whether this behaviour is typically insular (historical lack of predatory pressure, hence the very carefree movements of birds as the famous extinct dodo), or if the species is simply territorial.
